Promote Crossways
Need Crossways promotional materials to promote retreats, camp
or events with your congregation, family, and friends?
This is your resource for promoting camp within your
congregation and among your friends and families! Your
children, youth and young adults benefit greatly from all that a
Crossways experience has to offer.
There are many
ways to do this - choose what is best for you and your
congregation.
-
Contact the
Crossways' Appleton office and ask to be added to
the mailing list to be sure you receive mailings and emails
from Crossways about camp and other important events. Be
sure to check the website frequently for updates, flyers and materials.
- If you are
already on the contact list be sure to use the information
received to lift up opportunities for engagement in larger
church events like summer camp.
- Insert
promotional materials in your church newsletter or e-newsletter
- Use
worship bulletin inserts. If you have difficulties
printing,
contact us to receive a copy-ready version.
- Designate
a space in your church (visible to the ENTIRE
congregation) to post Crossways information. Make
sure you update it on a regular basis
- Feel free
to copy and use any article, booklet, flyer etc.
- Do Temple Talks and inform your entire congregation
about the importance of camp.
- Talk to
parents, children, and youth and ask them to consider
camping with Crossways this summer. Physically
hand them information.
- Offer and
promote scholarship assistance to children, youth,
families and individuals in your congregation
- Create
displays using pictures of former campers, and any
special mementos they might have of their experiences.
Former Crossways campers could wear their camp t-shirts
to church.
- Ask a
previous camper, camper's parent or staff alumni to talk
about their experience to groups such as your whole
congregation, youth group and/or Sunday School.
- Involve
past campers to create posters, collages, banners, etc.
- Have past
campers write short articles to describe what a week of
camp means to them. Display pictures or art work done by
these campers.
- Have a
camp sign up day where you assist campers in signing up
for camp - this is also a good way to keep track of who
is attending from your church and if you offer
scholarships it helps with the paperwork.
- Encourage
you church school teachers/pastors/youth workers to
volunteer at camp and bring along children and youth to
participate. This is a great way to build relationships
and for younger folks to see what faith looks like lived
out in community.
-
Contact us
if you'd like a Crossways representative to visit your
church. We would love to introduce your children, youth and
families to Crossways and let them know about the benefits
of camping.
Let us know if
you need any further information! Also, let us know
how you are doing - share the joys and challenges!
We thank you for
your continued support of the ministries of Crossways!
