While this year is realizing some changes at Crossways Camping Ministries, it is doing so as an organization that is even more committed and called to live out its mission “bringing people together in Christ so lives are changed, and communities enhanced."
This has been made even more evident to me as I began my role as the Interim Executive Director at the beginning of this year. While I have had the blessing and privilege to serve this organization on various committees and as a member of the board of directors since 2013, what I have experienced in a very short time in this new role has been amazing. I have witnessed the total commitment of an amazing staff and heard incredible and intimate stories of lives impacted, all this in just a few short weeks...
Now some of you might be wondering about this change in leadership at Crossways. We know many of our supporters, friends and partners in ministry are aware of the recent transitions but also know that some may not have heard all the details.
First, be reassured that Jake Czarnik- Neimeyer is remaining at Crossways, but in a different role.
Last year Jake Czarnik-Neimeyer, Executive Director for Crossways since 2014, proposed to the board of directors a new staffing structure, one where he would transition from his role as executive director and into a new role of capital campaign director. This proposal was made for a couple of reasons but primarily, it would allow him to devote his time, energy, skills, experience and passion for Crossways to leading the large, multiyear capital campaign which the organization was beginning. He felt this change would be in the best interest of the organization as well as provide the resources needed for a successful campaign, one of critical importance for the organization. After much prayerful discernment and discussion, the board approved Jake’s proposal and then made the decision to engage an interim executive director for the next 12-18 months.
I feel blessed to have been selected by the board for this role and am excited to provide leadership for the organization during this exciting and transitional time. This new year is providing me with an abundance of new opportunities and I also would like to invite each of you with me on this journey. Come and experience the new opportunities that Crossways Camping Ministries offers, come and experience people coming together in Christ where lives are changed, come and experience communities enhanced. Come…come…come…new opportunities await and abound! May you experience the peace and joy in Christ today!
