It has a been a busy, wonderful summer at Imago Dei Village so far! We've enjoyed 4 full weeks of camp - three weeks of confirmation camp and one week of Piece Together family camp. See some highlights shared on our facebook page below!
Piece Together is our one-of-a-kind family camp program for families with members on the autism spectrum. As we've listened to people talk about what matters most to them we've learned that it's family. Having a child with autism doesn’t change that, but it can make family time challenging and connection hard to come by. Children with autism and their families need a unique type of situation to feel physically and emotionally safe to connect, rejuvenate, and play together.
Piece Together gives families the opportunity to come together to play, relax, and enjoy each other all while being taken care of in a supportive, understanding environment. Fellow families understand your experience, because it's their experience, too. Camp staff are friendly, understanding, and highly trained to respond to the needs of your children and family. Activities are designed to be sensitive to the unique needs of spectrum families!
It's Piece Together week at Imago Dei Village this week and we wanted to share a few snapshots. As you can see, campers and staff are having a great time!
