Meet Your 2017 Summer Staff (IDV Round One)

3/27/2017

Are you just dying to know who will be working at camp this summer? Well, we're pretty excited about them too! Here are a few super swell young adults who will be working at Imago Dei Village this summer. (If you follow Imago Dei Village on facebook you'll be able to see these updates right away when they're posted! Follow, follow! Click HERE to follow!)
Lexi, Cabin Leader
Returning for another season as a cabin leader is the wonderful Lexi! This festive friend spends her time volunteering as a teacher's aide and serving on the board of directors of "Being There-Reaching Out," (a non-profit that serves fallen soldiers' families). During her down time, she likes trying to find the worst movies on Netflix to laugh at with friends. Lexi is looking forward to this summer, especially the canoeing and hiking. Additionally, she'd like to finally take
the crown for winning a game of Nine Square in the Air. In addition to working at camp during the sunny season, she'll also be going to South Africa for a few weeks for an internship with the World Health Organization.

Julia, Program Assistant
Julia will be returning for her third summer, this time serving as a Program Assistant. When Julia isn't at camp, she spends her time studying history and Spanish, leading her Quidditch team, and knitting for the Yarn Club on her campus. Some of the things that excite Julia about this summer include: laying under trees, kayaking, being close to the Sun-Drop bottling plant (Shawano), wearing Chacos, and making new friends! Someday Julia would like to work for the National Parks Service. Welcome back aboard, Julia!

Katie, Cabin Leader
Who loves river trips? Katie does! When Katie is not kayaking or canoeing, she reads, writes, and repeats! She's been published in the Oneota Review, a creative writing journal on her campus, for which she now serves on the review board. As a cabin leader for this summer, she looks forward to hanging out with her campers and redeeming herself at nine-square-in-the-air. It's no surprise that Katie looks forward to being in the woods this summer; according to Google Translate, her last name means "stick" in Polish! Who knew?!

Mara, Cabin Leader
Say hello to another summer staff member, Mara! During the school year she studies elementary education and stays organized by using her favorite tool, white boards! Mara looks forward to the summer season when she can go hiking and kayaking. Lastly, Mara says that she is most excited about meeting campers and creating new memories in the great outdoors as a cabin leader!

Brooke, Multi-Program Specialist
Ever wonder who gets the camp store up and running? Say hello to Brooke! She's currently studying business management and will be our Multi-Program Specialist for the summer! Brooke is an outdoorsy person who loves fishing, campfires, and water sports! She's pumped to meet new campers, share God's word with others, and work in God's beautiful creation. We're so thankful for Brooke and her optimistic attitude toward all!

Lindsey, Cabin Leader

Have we mentioned that the summer theme is "Water of Life"? While this type of water means more than just two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, it's a good fit considering so many of our staff love spending time on the water! Lindsey enjoys swimming, wake-boarding, and kayaking. As a cabin leader, she's looking forward to meeting new people, making friends, being surrounded by nature, and returning to where she used to be a camper! During the school year, she studies early childhood-middle adolescent education, tutors others, and hangs out with friends. If you're looking to show your appreciation for Lindsey, a slab of chocolate or a big smile is the way to go! Welcome, Lindsey.

Becca, Cabin Leader
Becca has been a camper in many places over the years, but Imago Dei has been the place she's always felt welcomed. This summer she'll be making others feel welcomed as she'll be a cabin leader! Becca loves choir, musicals, mission trips, and visiting her birthplace, Denmark! For each season, Becca finds joy in creation: riding her horse in the summer, going to orchards in the fall, skiing in the winter, and enjoying the warmth during the thaw in the spring. This summer she's excited to grow personally and in faith. Like many of us, she's also looking forward to developing her sandal tan lines too!

Corrina, Cabin Leader
Corrina is keeping with her trend of coming to camp every summer since she was born by joining our team as a cabin leader and we're so excited! She's looking forward to singing, dancing, swimming and praising God through all that camp entails! Overall, Corrina is loyal to the things she loves, and we don't just mean the Lord and camp...she's seen the musical "Wicked" 17 times! Welcome back, Corrina!

Kayla, Naturalist/Outfitter
After two summers of cabin leading, Kayla will be returning to Imago Dei as the Naturalist/Outfitter! She's graduating in May with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and plans to attend graduate school in the fall. For fun, she spends her time supporting Wisconsin Men's Basketball Team, jamming out boy bands, and happy crying over videos of baby elephants. As far as summer goes, she's looking forward to getting to know campers, singing God's praises until her voice is nonexistent, working the Piece Together program, hiking and camping out on the 120, trying to beat her record for marshmallows eaten in one sitting, and all of the campfires to be had!

Neve, Cabin Leader
Returning for a second summer as a cabin leader is Neve! As someone who enjoys spending time outside by hiking, biking, and being on the river, camp is the perfect place for Neve. Outside of camp, Neve is a Psychology major who likes to relax by knitting and hopes to start a vegetable garden this spring!

David, Cabin Leader
David will be returning for his second summer as a cabin leader. For those of you who don't already know him, David is a math fan in that he does math for both school and fun. He enjoys reading in sunny spots and showing other people his magic tricks. David is excited for this summer for two simple reasons: to have fun outside and talk about God!

Alli, Cabin Leader
Another staff member returning as a cabin leader is Alli! Alli studies chemistry and math at school and she's really smart (she even skipped second grade)! To stay active, Alli enjoys biking and movin' & groovin' on the dance team! Alli gets most excited about camp when she thinks about the s'mores, singing, swimming, and sunshine!

Carley, Cabin Leader
Welcome cabin leader, Carley, who can clap with one hand! Carley loves being active, whether it is swimming, sports, or outdoor games. During the school year she plays on the basketball and softball teams at her college and also makes time to tutor others in math. Carley is excited to meet new friends and have fun in the great outdoors!

Charles, Program Assistant
A great entertainer and leader, Charles will be joining Julia as a Program Assistant! Charles is a social work student who loves mountain biking and spending time outside with friends. As a previous camper and staff member, he's excited to return for his third summer. A fun fact about Charles is that he can juggle...but don't just take our word for it; come to camp and see Charles doing what he loves at the variety show where he'll most likely perform with David!

Tess, Arts & Crafts Specialist
Meet Tess! Of course, you may already know her, as she's already spent time on staff with us at Imago Dei Village! Graduating in May with a degree in elementary education, she is hoping to find a position in Minnesota to go to after camp! She is currently teaching in a fourth grade classroom in Ireland.
Tess is excited to serve as the Arts and Crafts Specialist this summer, but also greatly looks forward to singing camp songs, spending time in nature with God, and gathering around bonfires with new and old friends and s'mores.
