what have others said about the
servant leader internship program?
"The opportunity to move to Crossways was a huge transition for me, and it was brought me so much more than I had imagined. I’ve learned a great deal about what outdoor ministry is like: the camp operations, putting together programming, connections with churches and communities, etc. In addition, I have been absolutely surrounded by an environment that has both challenged me and nurtured me in my walk through faith and life. I’ve been able to seek advice and learn from great mentors and coworkers. I have been able to share in growth through prayer, devotion, and reflection. These things, on paper, sound great, but I will tell you – the blessing of experiencing these things is particularly impactful."
Dan Feldhacker, 2017-2018 Intern
"During the course of the internship I was able to attend a couple conferences including the Mid States camp conference, where I gained valuable knowledge from other camp professionals. In addition to the conference, I enjoyed meeting and interacting with the retreat groups that used our facilities. The groups were fun to be around, and I enjoyed being able to serve them."
Jenn Buhr, 2017-2018 Intern
"While here I spent a lot of time thinking about what’s next. I was able to discern that my next step is seminary and since deciding that, I have been accepted to the Masters of Divinity program at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul."
Adrian Harvieux, 2018 Intern
"I’ve been able to grow in my professional development by going to different conferences and meeting other ministry people. I’m still in contact with them today and it’s great to be able to bounce off ideas and apply them to our camps.”
Jade, 2015-2016 Intern
“Our internship program is an intentional Christian community. We pray together weekly, have fun movie nights, and use our gifts and talents to go out and spread the good news.”
Kelly, Pine Lake Camp Director
