Crossways camps build critical life skills, especially in teenagers! Independence, autonomy, problem-solving, grit - these are essential for making that transition into adulthood. Settlers experience extended river trips (Village only), overnight camp-outs, low ropes challenge courses, and take part in some of the program leadership onsite with our younger campers. Settlers also get to kick back and enjoy classic camp activities, late night campfires, nature hikes, and more. We take our Settlers deeper into Bible study and talk about the intersection of faith and real life, exploring what it means to love God and to be faithful examples of Christ's love in our world.
Leaders in Training
(LIT) 10th - 12th Grade
This two-week program is a combination of leadership training, peer ministry, and youth camp designed specially for our older high school campers who are interested in learning what it's like to serve on camp staff! During the first week campers experience classic camp activities and participate in intensive leadership and peer ministry training to prepare them for the second week: when LIT campers are paired with cabin leaders to act as a junior cabin leader in a cabin group of younger campers!
Youth interested in applying for LIT 2020 should download, fill out, and mail the Leader-In-Training Application to our Administrative Office. Our staff will notify you when your application is received. The camp director of your 2nd week choice will reach out to you starting in January of 2020 to schedule an interview! Applicants will be notified of their acceptance to the program within 1-2 weeks of their interview, and will be given further registration instructions.
